Profile:

Prof. Inoue is one of the leading researchers in cell biology. His research group has recently developed a series of chemical-molecular tools that allow for inducible, quick-onset and specific perturbation of various signaling molecules. Using this novel technique in conjunction with fluorescence imaging, micro-fabricated devices, quantitative analysis and computational modeling, his group focuses on dissecting and reconstituting intricate signaling networks in the cell to elucidate the "signaling paradox" created by nature. After obtaining a PhD in Pharmaceutical Science at the University of Tokyo, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Stanford University then, obtained a position at the Johns Hopkins University in 2008. He is the recipient of the 2014 R.R. Bentley Young Investigator Award.
