Organic synthesis, Organometallic chemistry

New synthetic tools are essential to provide novel functional molecules. His research interest is to develop transition metal-catalyzed reactions that enable the synthesis of efficient biology-oriented molecules, which will promote the biological research at ITbM. He focuses on creating unprecedented hetero-functionalization reactions of C-H bonds, which attaches unique properties of heteroatoms to well-established functional molecules. As a proof-of-concept, he reported the direct nitrogenation (imidation) of aromatic cores of functional molecules including natural products and organic materials.
