Drs. Kohsuke Ohmatsu and Norihito Nakamichi receive the MEXT Minister's Young Scientist Award
Drs. Kohsuke Ohmatsu and Norihito Nakamichi of ITbM receive the MEXT (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology) Minister's Young Scientist Award. MEXT recognizes people who have made outstanding achievements in research and development as well as promotion in the understanding of science and technology. The Young Scientist Award is awarded to young researchers below the age of 40, who have carried out original and exploratory research displaying outstanding research achievements.
Dr. Ohmatsu received this award for his research on the "development of innovative molecular catalysts utilizing ion pair characteristics". (Research Highlights: "Rapid synthesis towards optically active α-aminocarbonyl therapeutics")
Dr. Nakamichi received this award for his research on the "transcription regulatory network of the circadian rhythm of plants". (Research Highlights:"Plant's morning calls to prepare for the night")
