Dr. Aiko Fukazawa has been selected to receive the 2017 Nozoe Award

Dr. Aiko Fukazawa, an associate professor in ITbM's Vice-Director Professor Shigehiro Yamaguchi's group and a cooperating researcher of ITbM, has been selected to receive the 2017 (13th) Nozoe Memorial Award for Young Organic Chemists.

This award is granted to young researchers below the age of 40, who have made outstanding research achievements in the field of physical organic chemistry, such as structural organic chemistry and mechanistic studies of organic reactions.

Dr. Fukazawa receives this award for her research on the "Development of Functional pi-Electron Systems Based on the Characteristics of Third-Row Main-Group Elements".

The award ceremony and award lecture are scheduled to be held during the 28th Symposium on Physical Organic Chemistry at Kyushu University (Ito campus) on September 7-9, 2017.
