Prof. Kenichiro Itami and his colleagues' research on the creation of a bioactive compound that stimulates plant growth was featured in Chemical & Engineering News.
The compound was synthesized by palladium-catalyzed C-H arylation and the studies were reported as a Letter "Discovery of Plant Growth Stimulants by C-H Arylation of 2-Azahypoxanthine", in the journal Organic Letters.
