Professor Kenichiro Itami's new compound, dcypt is commercially available
Professor Kenichiro Itami, Center Director of ITbM and Associate Professor Junichiro Yamaguchi (currently at Waseda University) have developed a new diphosphine ligand dcypt (3,4-bis(dicyclohexylphosphino)thiophene), which is now commercially available from Kanto Chemicals.
The new ligand can be mixed with metal catalysts to bring about reactions to connect aromatic rings. Due to is air stability and ease in handling, dcypt can be used as a ligand for various catalytic reactions.
