第26回ITbMギャラリー展覧会では，名古屋学芸大学のデザイナーチームが手がけるアーティストVividmaoの「Vivid mao」を開催しました．この展覧会では，鮮やかで力強いVividmaoの作品の世界観を体感できる空間を，名古屋学芸大学のチームがデザインしました．

In the 26th ITbM Gallery Exhibition, the design team from Nagoya University of Arts and Sciences (NUAS) presented the artist Vividmao's "Vivid mao." In this exhibition, the team from NUAS designed a space where visitors could experience the vibrant and powerful world of Vividmao's artworks.

Introduction of the artist (TAKEUCHI Yumiko)

Vividmaoこと折目麻緒は，現在19歳です．私と彼女の最初の出会いは彼女が10歳の時でした．当時彼女は私立中学受験に向けて奮闘中．彼女にとっての心のよりどころは練り消しゴムでした．中学1年から3年までの間，彼女は絵に心を寄せていました．
そして，高校1年の時に再び彼女に出会ったのですが，彼女の夢はカフェで個展を開くことでした．その時の周りの反応は現在とは違いました．「ゆみこ先生どうにかなりませんか？」素人である私がスケッチブックをめくったところ，驚くべき作品が目に入りました．それは，ものさしの中にある○・△・□を使った作品でした．○・△・□を重ね，想いと色を合わせて浮かび上がる作品は，予想を超えるものでした．
それ以降，○・△・□に限らず，花や金魚，動物など，Vividmao独自の表現方法で作品を制作していきました．Vividmaoは，普通に見えるものだけでなく，闇の中や光の中にある強烈な表現方法と色彩にも挑戦しました．福祉事業所の中で取り組みながら，彼女は徐々に作品に毒と砂糖を少しずつ含ませながら進化していくと私は確信しています．私はあくまでも素人のVividmaoの一ファンですが．．．

Vividmao, also known as ORIME Mao, is currently 19 years old. Our first encounter took place when she was 10 years old. At that time, she was striving for the entrance exam to a private junior high school. The kneaded eraser was her solace. From her first year of junior high school until the third year, she devoted herself to art.
When I met her again in her first year of high school, her dream was to hold a solo exhibition in a cafe. The reactions from those around her at that time were different from now. "Yumiko-sensei, can you help me somehow?" I, an amateur, flipped through the sketchbook and came across a remarkable piece. It was a work that used circles, triangles, and squares within a ruler. The pieces overlapped, and as thoughts and colors were layered on top, the artwork exceeded expectations.
From that point on, she created artwork using not only circles, triangles, and squares but also flowers, goldfish, animals, and other expression methods unique to Vividmao. Vividmao dared to draw not only what appeared ordinary but also intense expression methods and colors found within darkness and light. While challenging herself within a welfare institution, I am convinced that she will continue to evolve her artwork, gradually incorporating both poison and sweetness. I remain a devoted fan of Vividmao, an amateur at heart.
