生物時計、システム生物学
概日時計の機能を調節するこれらの化合物および遺伝子の情報と、ITbMの最先端の技術を組み合わせることにより、Kay- 廣田グループは概日時計の研究を変革させてひいてはヒトの健康増進に役立つような「トランスフォーマティブ生命分子」を発見することを目指します。
分子生物学、遺伝学、ゲノミクス、生化学、そしてケミカルバイオロジーの統合により、概日時計の鍵となる制御機構を解明すると共に、時計と生理・行動リズムがどのようにつながっているのかを明らかにします。
作用機序を解明した化合物は概日時計機能を自在に操作するための有用なツールとなるだけでなく、概日時計に関連した疾患の治療法開発の足がかりとなるに違いありません。
